Oral Health Checkup
Regular check-ups help keep your teeth and gums healthy by detecting problems early and giving you clear guidance on maintaining long-term oral health.
Regular check-ups help keep your teeth and gums healthy by detecting small issues before they turn into bigger problems. They also give you a clear picture of your overall oral health and what you can do to maintain it.
What we look for
During your routine check-up, we assess each tooth for early signs of decay or weakening, check your gums for any inflammation, and make sure your bite and jaw movement are functioning well. We also examine soft tissues—such as your tongue, cheeks, and lips—for any changes that may need follow-up.
During the appointment
Your appointment begins with a quick chat about how things have been feeling. We then carry out a careful visual and tactile examination using small instruments and good lighting. If we need a clearer look between teeth or below the gums, we may take digital X-rays for accuracy and early detection.
Where appropriate, the visit may include a professional clean to remove plaque and tartar from areas that brushing often misses. This helps reduce the risk of gum problems and helps your mouth feel fresher.
After your check-up
We talk through our findings in plain language and outline any recommended next steps. If everything looks healthy, we’ll confirm when your next visit should be and give you simple, practical advice to support good oral health at home.
