Veneers
Veneers quickly enhance your smile by fixing chips, gaps, and discolouration with thin, custom-made porcelain coverings that look natural and feel comfortable.
Veneers are a fast and effective way to transform your smile. They’re thin coverings applied to the front surface of your teeth to improve shape, colour, and overall appearance — while still looking completely natural.
Why veneers are used
Veneers are ideal for improving the appearance of teeth that are chipped, stained, uneven, slightly crooked, or spaced apart. Because each veneer is customised, they can be colour-matched to blend seamlessly with your natural teeth.
Your veneer options
At Dental HQ, we offer two types of veneers. The right choice depends on the look you want, your budget, and how much change is needed.
Composite veneers
Composite veneers are shaped and applied directly to the tooth. They’re often a quicker, more cost-effective option and can be a great choice for smaller changes. If a composite veneer chips, it can often be repaired without replacing the entire veneer.
Ceramic (porcelain) veneers
Ceramic veneers are custom-made by a dental laboratory for a precise fit and natural finish. They’re typically more stain-resistant and longer-lasting than composite veneers. Ceramic veneers usually take two visits and may involve temporary veneers while your final ones are being made.
What to expect during treatment
The process begins with a consultation to understand your goals and assess which veneer option is best for you. We then prepare the front surface of the tooth by removing a very thin layer of enamel. This allows the veneer to sit naturally without feeling bulky.
For ceramic veneers, digital scans or impressions are taken and sent to our dental laboratory, where your veneers are crafted with precision. Temporary veneers may be placed while your final ones are being created. Once ready, the veneers are bonded securely and adjusted to ensure a comfortable bite and natural appearance.
After your appointment
You can resume normal activities straight away. Veneers are durable and long-lasting, but maintaining good oral hygiene is essential. Avoid biting very hard objects directly with veneered teeth to help protect them from chips or cracks.
