Composite Fillings
Composite fillings repair cavities with strong, tooth-coloured material that blends naturally, helps protect your tooth structure, and supports comfortable daily function.
Composite fillings are a modern, natural-looking way to repair teeth affected by cavities or minor damage. They bond securely to your tooth structure, blend in with your smile, and allow you to eat and speak normally without the metallic look of older amalgam fillings.
Why we use composite
Composite material is strong, durable, and colour-matched to your tooth. It requires less drilling than metal fillings, which means we preserve more of your natural tooth and help maintain long-term strength.
What to expect during treatment
The area is gently numbed to keep you comfortable. We remove the decayed portion of the tooth, clean the area thoroughly, and then layer the composite material into place. Each layer is hardened with a special light before the filling is shaped and polished to look and feel natural.
After your appointment
You can return to normal activities straight away. Mild sensitivity is possible for a short time, but it usually settles quickly. We’ll give you simple advice to help protect your restored tooth and prevent future cavities.
If you’re unsure whether a tooth needs a filling or another treatment, we’re here to assess your options and explain everything clearly.
