Crowns

Crowns strengthen and protect damaged teeth with a natural-looking covering that restores shape, function, and durability while blending seamlessly with your smile.

Dental crowns are designed to protect and strengthen teeth that have been damaged, weakened, or heavily restored. A crown covers the entire visible portion of the tooth, restoring its shape, strength, and appearance while allowing you to chew and speak normally.

Why crowns are used

Crowns are recommended when a tooth is cracked, worn down, or too damaged to support a filling. They are also used after root canal treatment, to protect weakened teeth, or to improve the appearance of discoloured or misshapen teeth.

Because crowns are custom-made, they match the colour, contour, and bite of your natural teeth, giving a seamless and durable result.

What to expect during treatment

The process begins with preparing the tooth so the crown can sit comfortably over it. We then take precise digital scans or impressions to ensure the crown fits accurately. A temporary crown may be placed while your final crown is being crafted in our dental laboratory.

At your fitting visit, the new crown is carefully bonded into place and adjusted so it feels natural and functions properly with your bite.

After your appointment

You can return to normal activities straight away. Some mild sensitivity may occur initially, especially if the tooth was previously damaged or treated, but this usually settles quickly.

How long do crowns last?

With good oral hygiene and regular check-ups, crowns can last many years. We’ll help you care for your crown and keep the supporting tooth and gums healthy over time.
